Apple’s new multi-touch mouse (dubbed the Magic Mouse after an unfortunate trademark scuffle) does away with the need for accessories like the Griffin PowerMate, which I use to scroll through things and edit video more precisely. Even when I upgrade, though, I don’t think I’m going to ditch it: having a secondary input peripheral just feels so great from a UX perspective. There’s something about controlling a machine with both hands that feels almost empowering.
